Visual Basic

The Split Workbook activity splits the data of a sheet by the values in a given column and creates a separate workbook for each value. The DataTable returned can conveniently be used by the Queue All Workbooks activity to make a queue item for each workbook to be processed by a Processor. The Processor would consume the queued items which contain the path to the generated workbook files.

These activities allow the user to easily convert a process written to handle a sheet of data from a workbook to a Dispatcher-Processor model that can be run on many concurrent robots.

This automation combines multiple Document Understanding ML models into a single attended interface where the user can choose which model to use, and which file(s) to process. The robot will run the extraction and dump the contents into an Excel file at a specified location. This is done without Validation station for very quick data extraction that an user might want for one off documents throughout their day.

When running the bot using the Microsoft Token activity I keep getting an error. "Get Microsoft Token: Illegal character: 8"Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I entered the Secret Key value that was shown before activating on my device that would be doing the approval. So I figured once it was activated it would work without any issue. But I activated the Secret Key on a different device (via phone), not the activity in this case. Maybe that is my issue? If so, I am not 100% sure how I would activate the Secret Key through UiPath then.I really would like to use this activity, but can't get it to work. The Secret Key is all numeric and I am not using spaces.

I am still facing the issues for two-factor authentication.

I am using microsoft authenticator for two factor authentication. I am approving through app. I can change this method to SMS but not email... These sms or app are the two default options. 

For the secret key you are asking to generate throgh the microsoft sign in process.. we dont get can't see bar code.. can't use mobile all time. it cannot generate secret key and there is no documentation regarding the two factor authentication in uipath forum or anywhere.. How can we explore or complete the solution? Please help us out.

While enabling MFA for Microsoft Authenticator, In the configure mobile app page, it shows CODE and URL under barcode. Here CODE is the secret key? and its full of numeric values.

Works perfectly! - I used this for an application that uses Google Authenticate, and it logs in perfectly every time. Great job!


It functions to generate a TOTP no problem! I used it to make logging into Saleforce a little more secure and easier to access compared to OTP via email. 

My only concern initially given that all three activities use the same algorithm is there is no reason to have three different activities.

Would love to see this added to the Open Source activities.

One of the main functionalities that the latest update contains is the WebLogin Authentication Mode (found under the SharePoint Instance Type property) which can  potentially authenticate the robot even if the SharePoint instance is using 3rd party identity providers or if only multi factor authentication is possible. This happens by prompting the user to insert their credentials the first time the workflow is executed, afterwards which the robot stays authenticated. Given that this mode requires human input, it is recommended that this authentication mode is used only for attended automation

I noticed that I'm not able to give an entire path to be created on SharePoint using Create folder activity, for example "Path1/Path2/Path3", I need to create a loop and create one folder by time: "Path1", "Path1/Path2", "Path1/Path2/Path3". The documentation says that "It creates nested folders as well", but it throws an exception when one of the nested paths of the RelativeUrl does not exists.

When I try to upload a file with Upload file activity, the RelativeUrl parameter causes problems with some characters, for example a dot, it throws an exception with this message: "Upload file: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.". In this case I'm obligated to make the replacements, for example, "." for "%2E". I think the activity should handle it, shouldn't it?Suggestion: Upload file activity could return the URL of the uploaded file for SharePoint online.

Do this activity works with SSO on SharePoint? I have used this for one of the SP url which is SSO and it is giving me error for SP connection saying "Unauthorized User", though the creds are correct, would you please suggest some solution on this?

While installing the package from studio am getting the error Cannot load assembly: C:\Users\djaykrishna\.nuget\packages\uipathteam.sharepoint.activities/1.3.0\lib/net461/UiPathTeam.SharePoint.Activities.dll : System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Client, Version=16.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.But the file is present in the specified location.

I'm a novice when it comes to writing in CAML. Hi, I'm having problem with update list items activity. As the list column types are "User" and "Refer to", we can not update them. The error message is "Invalid data has been used to update the list item. The field you are trying to update may be read only". Could you please kindly advise how I can handle this problem, thanks in advance.

I'm receiving the following return error message on a Get File:Message: Cannot contact web site 'https://signetjewelers.sharepoint.com/' or the web site does not support SharePoint Online credentials. Hi, Thank you for providing the package which make automating in sharepoint easy. However, I encountered "Microsoft.Sharepoint.Client.ServerException" telling me that the group cannot be found. This group which is also a Active directory group is the group that I have been using to set permission for all my folders in the library but somehow the system not detecting. Please help. My system in onpremises and this I have selected in place of default online.

Hello Radu,I have downloaded the “SharePoint Custom Activities Package” from the “go.uipath.com” portal. I have added that to the UiPath studio. After that I tried to use the activity “Sharepoint application scope”, but it is asking for the UserName and Password as the mandatory field. What value should be enter in these two fields? Please confirm.NOTE - SharePoint which we are using is Single Sign On(SSO), we are not entering any UserName and Password while interacting with the SharePoint.

I am trying to update list items using UpdateListItem activity. List contains around 30K items. Activity is returning the error "The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator."I know LVT is set to 5000. HI Radu, Related to your question below, this is general issue and not specific to Add list item. I am able to upload data manually through excel but not with this SharePoint activity. I guess our organization is using Azure Active Directory for authentication since we are using cloud based SharePoint online. HI Radu, Yes I am using email id and password and manually its working but not via this activity even by providing the credentials as it is giving Bad ID/Password error. We are getting a 403 error when trying to connect to our Sharepoint Online site. We are able to do the activities when we try it directly, however struggle to do the same via Uipath activity. I just started exploring this package. When reading list items in a Sharepoint Application Scope I get the following error:

Read list items: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.

How can I solve this/work around this? It seems that it is not using the default settings from Internet Options.

Lately I am facing problem when trying to use send mail using UiPath.SendExchangeMail activity - rightr after your Sharepoint activity it throws "The Autodiscover service couldn't be located". When I send mail before reaching Sharepoint with your activity then all goes fine. Tested multiple times using different Sharepoint sites and mailboxes and mailbox accounts and results were always the same. Sending mail activities were always outside "Sharepoint application scope" activity. Does your activity somehow "block" Exchange service?

When i use the for each activity, i get the following error: Multiple Assign: Can not assign 'item("Op_x0020_te_x0020_vragen_x0020_m0").ToString' to 'Materie2'.

That is because by that item, the field is empty. That can happen sometimes.

Our Azure Sharepoint Online is using Modern authentication with service principal.

my customer just installed ADFS Services and occur your activities not working as usual.

Currently, we have several production processes that are using the Sharepoint Custom Activities Package 1.3.0. Due to some security changes, those aren't working anymore, as the basic authentication is blocked. I have installed the new version 1.4.1 and tried WebLogin, which does work on my local machine, but it seems that when triggered on our VMs, it isn't working anymore as expected. The problem is that the SSO window appears during the project run, but this isn't happening on my local machine (it actually does open for a split second and get's autocompleted). Do you have any idea what might be missing? Is it a library that I have installed on my local machine, but isn't on the Virtual Machine?

Also, any reason why version 1.4.1 isn't officially available through the go platform? I would find it helpful and would like to be able to read also the new documentation with the newly made changes.

would you mind to add an addditional authentification methode like OAuth2? Then sombody could access the client context with a Client ID and Client Secret instead of an User.

We've been trying to use this connector with SharePoint Online but keep getting a "cannot invoke http dav request. there is a pending query" error when we try to upload a file (Downloading a file from the same SharePoint works fine).

Hi! I've asked a question here: https://forum.uipath.com/t/cannot-create-a-sharepoint-folder/140739/3 . Basically I cannot get "Create Folder"-activity to work. I can upload files and Get children names for example in the folder, but when trying to create a new sub-folder I always get

"Create folder: List 'some/path' does not exist at site with URL 'https://abc.sharepoint.com/path/to/site'". I have tried any combinaion of Library path/url I can think of but always the same error. Any hints?

but if i use lower version i don't get any error.

however updated version has facility of secure string and lower version doesn't have 

i don't understand how to insert a list item in a sub folder of an existing list with the activity Add list item.

Thanks for replying to my previous post! I see that we have now the newest version uploaded and also the documentation, which really helps. I was curious about a different thing. Knowing that Microsoft will decommission basic authentication by next year, are there any plans to extend the functionality of the Sharepoint activities to use modern authentication also for unattended robots?
