The Package contains a set of 7 activities which are as follows:

**Google Maps Scope** - The scope handles the connection client and authentication for Google Maps Platform activities.

**Find Place** - The Find Place activity takes as input a text and returns a place. The text input can be any kind of places data, for example, a name, address, or phone number.

**Nearby Search** -  A Nearby Search lets you search for places within a specified area. You can refine your search request by supplying keywords or specifying the type of place you are searching for.

**Get Place Details** \- The Get Place Details activity returns more comprehensive information about the indicated place such as its complete address, phone number, user rating and reviews.

**Get Place Photo** - The Get Place Photo activity gives you access to the millions of photos stored in the Places database.

**Place Autocomplete** - The Place Autocomplete activity can match on full words as well as substrings. Applications can therefore send queries as the user types, to provide on-the-fly place predictions.

**Query Autocomplete** - The Query Autocomplete activity allows you to add on-the-fly geographic query predictions to your application.

**Note:** Current release contains activities to communicate with Google Places only.

The Google’s Directions API is a service that calculates directions between locations. You can search for directions for several modes of transportation, including transit, driving, walking, or cycling.

Note: 1) The Response code is of type Integer (Int) and all other input and output variables are of type "String"

2) in GetTripResponse Output - **"Mode"is required input field and values accepted are “xml” or “json” \[lower case only\]**

**Activities details :**

a)      GetTrip Distance And Duration: Get Trip distance and duration based on Origin and destination addresses (works the similar way as Google maps)

·        Input: Origin address , Destination address & Google API key

·        Steps: Google Location API will calculate the distance and duration based on the origin and destination addresses

·        Output: Response status code, Distance in Miles or Kilometer and Duration

b)     GetTripResponse Output: Get trip details response in XML or JSON

·        Input: Origin address , Destination address , Google API key and Mode (xml or json)\[only lower case)

·        Steps: Google Location API will calculate the distance and duration based on the origin and destination addresses

·        Output: Response status code & Response output in XML

Two activities using Google Location API (Google maps) to find distance, duration, and get output response string in XML or JSON between origin and destination address.

The Google Maps Custom Activity should be used within the GoogleMaps Scope.

1.  **GoogleMaps Scope**: Authenticates all Google maps activities.  Activities work with the account specified in the Application Scope
2.  **Get Distance and Duration**: Calculate the travel distance and travel time between two points.
3.  **Get Directions**: Get directions data from origin to destination.
4.  **Get Elevation**: Find height above sea level and depth of locations on the ocean floor.
5.  **Search For Places**: Search for nearby places/places with a query string.
6.  **Get Coordinates**: Find the latitude/longitude coordinates for a given address.
7.  **Get address**: Convert the latitude/longitude coordinates of a geographic location to an address.
8.  **Get Place Photo**: Get photograhic content of a place.
9.  **Get Time Zone**: Find the time zone details for a location.

This Google Maps package contains a set of activities to interact with Google Maps API in real time to fetch data of locations, directions, distance, duration, photos, geo coordinates, time zone etc.

### How It Works

The activities facilitate automated interactions between UiPath and Google Maps by establishing an authenticated connection through the UiPath Connector for Google Maps. Once established, the connection to the Google Maps instance can be reused in all activities in the package.
