This activity gives you the benefit to change the column datatype to the desired type by just providing the datatable and column name or column index as the input. The user has the option to store the result in a new datatable as well.

This activity helps a user to change the datatype of a datatable column to any user selected datatype.

Will it work if column name has any extra spaces ?

Hi Jyotsna, I have a column with strings, that is a date in german time format (dd.MM.yyyy). I get an error, that the string is not a valid date. Any suggestions how to fix it? 

How can i convert datatype to General format??

 - Works fine.
For example, you used this activity to convert a string type column to a int32 type with simple settings and filter the table.


 - I have tried this activity several times, and it seems not to be as robust as expected. If the column to be changed contains alpha characters, and wanted to change it to Int32, an exception is thrown. I expected this kind of situations to be catched accordingly... for example, a 0 expected in the conversion if it is not allowed...

I have less than a year experience with RPA and for me this activity is very helpful for converting data table column types to specific types, such as Int32, for data extracts. Look forward to using this more in the near future.
