Incidents are received in text format with data related to the issue and they have to be manually fed into the ServiceNow application for further action. These incidents happen on a day to day basis and the data in the text file also needs to be validated to route it to the concerned department. Based on the data in text file, the incident has to be created and assigned to the concerned assignment group. For this process UiPath automation tool is used to handle this task swiftly.
Using UiPath tool, the data required to create the incident is extracted from text files. Then the data is being validated for the required fields for any errors. Then the incidents are created in ServiceNow and a summary report of the input files are updated with the incident numbers created and, for the failed files the details of the missing fields are captured.
This bot helps in reading the data from text files for the incidents to be created and creates it without errors.
