This is useful for knowing how many software are installed on the bot (only Windows) machine and which is the latest version of it. For the next version, to add on top of searching in the registries, maybe the component could search on the disk (maybe for files that contain 'uninstall' in the filename, .msi uninstall files etc.). This way you could find applications that don't drop info in the registry (the case of a lot of portable applications).
