You only need to fill in the body and system prompt as string, and receive an output string from the assistant. You will also need an API key, which is free in the beginning (but lasts for some time).

  

Get an API key here (once you have an account): https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys. Enter the API key into the input argument.

  

All the work regarding the formatting of the JSON body and extraction of data from JSON is covered, so you can focus on the input and output.

This activity uses the UiPath Invoke Code activity to call the OpenAI GPT-3.5 model API with input parameters including the prompt, model name, maximum tokens, and API key. The workflow validates input parameters and logs relevant information using the Log Message activity. It catches exceptions and throws error messages with the relevant information if there is an error in the API call or JSON parsing.

  

**Input Parameters:**

*   Prompt - the text prompt for the GPT-3.5 model to generate the output.
*   ModelName - the name of the GPT-3.5 model to use for generating output.
*   MaxTokens - the maximum number of tokens to generate the model output.
*   APIKey - the API key for the OpenAI API, which is required for authentication and authorization.

Response: The generated text response from the GPT-3.5 model.

The DocumentText output of Digitize Document Activity needs to be passed as an input to the Ask GPT activity. The other key input of Ask GPT is the list of questions. The GPT prompt is generated by UiPath behind the scenes, so you do not need to worry about generating the GPT Prompt.

  

For best results, it is critical to phrase your questions as explicitly and unambiguously as possible. For example, instead of "What type of agreement is this?" you will get much better results with a question like: "Is this document a Non Disclosure Agreement? Yes or no." 

  

Or if you expect an answer from a specific list of options, provide the list, and do not forget to include an "Other" option. "What currency is this financial document denominated in? Options: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, Other. "

  

Keep in mind you can ask multiple questions at the same time, and it is often preferable to ask multiple simple Yes/No questions rather than one more complicated question with many possible answers. 

  

Also, GPT is not good at explicit logic or mathematical operations. So if you need to find whether the amount of a contract is over 1 million dolars, then instead of asking "Is this contract over 1 million dollars? Yes or no." you will get much better results if you ask " What is the amount of this contract, in dollars, as a number?" and then do the comparison to determine whether amount is over 1 million or not, as a separate operation in your workflow.

Keep in mind you can ask multiple questions at the same time, and it is often preferable to ask multiple simple Yes/No questions rather than one more complicated question with many possible answers. 

  

Also, GPT is not good at explicit logic or mathematical operations. So if you need to find whether the amount of a contract is over 1 million dolars, then instead of asking "Is this contract over 1 million dollars? Yes or no." you will get much better results if you ask " What is the amount of this contract, in dollars, as a number?" and then do the comparison to determine whether amount is over 1 million or not, as a separate operation in your workflow. 

  

**Data security**

  

The **Ask GPT** activity uses a GPT resource in Microsoft Azure which is the gold standard in enterprise readiness, and data privacy and security compliance. This activity **does NOT send data to OpenAI** or OpenAI services.

  

The **OpenAIConnectionScope** activity uses the OpenAI APIs, and requires you/the user to have an active subscription to OpenAI services and a valid API Key obtained from your OpenAI account. This activity **sends data to OpenAI services.**

  

**Support and Recommended Usage**

  

The GPT Activities package is not officially supported part of the UiPath platform. It is intended to be used for non-prod scenarios like demos, PoCs, pilot projects in order to help your customers become familiar with this revolutionary new AI technology and its capabilities and limitations. 

  

The Document Undertanding Product team is working to integrate a similar capabilities into the official Document Understanding product by end of June 2023.

Besides this, we needed to make sure that everything runs automated with no human intervention. Due to this requirement we started using the UiPath Orchestrator queues to push and consume conversation business related information. When developing our sample RPA processes to be triggered from a conversation we needed a way to send back to our Druid platform, the needed information for this trigger to happen. The idea of having a custom code activity emerged including a REST client triggering an API call to the Druid Platform.

The conversations are configured with the Conversation Designer in DRUID platform. No code required. Chatting with the bots is possible in Intranet web pages (land bot page, skype for business, skype, slack or even in Facebook).

**How it works:**

*   Unattended automations are triggered using Orchestrator APIs. A configurable polling mechansim monitors the process job and collects output. Further, a 'hold message' pattern has been implemented to improve user experience in cases of long running fulfillment.
*   Attended automations are triggered using the Robot JavaScript SDK and requires the use of the included webchat interface.
*   The UiPath Assistant widget component can be built with the UiPath Assistant plugin creator to create a custom widget that embeds the configured chatbot.

In this project, we have developed a versatile, reusable BOT that seamlessly interacts with the powerful **Chat GPT APIs**. This BOT can be employed in two distinct modes to streamline your workflow:

*   firstly, it can operate based on a configuration Excel file, which contains a comprehensive list of categories and associated questions. By leveraging the APIs, the BOT can **autonomously search** for the appropriate responses and append them to the same Excel file, in a designated new column.
