Hi Sorin, I get below error intermittently on unattended bot. i'm unsure what's causing this error? SSH Connect Scope' with ID 18 threw or propagated an exception while being canceled.

While using actviites simple commnad like PWD is returning the result but when tried for using command phrun su **** getting timeout error. Any idea what is the reason.

I am trying to use this activity to connect to a switch. I can login with the SSH Connect Scope. I am now trying to figure out how to run the command "enable", and then type the password when prompted immediately after the enable command (in a switch you would type "enable<enter>" then enter the password and the "Password:" prompt). When I use SSH Run Command, if I just have "enable", it will time out before running the next SSH Run command where I have the password as the command. I cannot find a way to combine the "enable" and Password in the same SSH Run command, and so I'm stuck. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Run command activity doesnt work when the command has white space in between 

I have succesfully connected to a switch using the SSHConnectScopeActivity. Inside the Run SSH Commands loop, I have a SSHRunCommandActivity with a variable as a result. Uder it, I have an IF statement which based on the previously result determine what to do. Inside the ELSE section, I have another SSHRunCommandActivity which returns the following error: Renci.SshNet.Common.SshConnectionException: Client not connected.

What I don't understand is why is the client not connected if the SSHRunCommandActivity is inside the loop of SSHConnectScopeActivity. Do you have any ideea?

EDIT: As for the update last day, I found out that every shell command using SSH RUN SHELL COMMAND activity, begins with "echo $" and for cisco switches this is a problem as i cannot activate the shell before the command. Any advice?

EDIT 2: Never mind, the problem was my regular expresion. After I changed from  "[a-zA-Z0-9_.-]*\#$" to "[a-zA-Z0-9_.-]*\#", everything worked. Thank you Sorin and keep up the good work! 

TIP for CISCO swithes: On "SSH Run Shell Command", turn Check Exit Code to False so the shell command will not error out when you run CLI IOS commands.

If you want to run ("true") shell commands, create inside the  SSH Connect Scope an SSH Run Shell Command with the Check Exit Code to False with the "term shell" command. Doing so you will be able to run shell commands in your cisco switch without problems using this activity.

I have installed SSH.NET >= 2016.1.0 package but I am unable to see 2 activities: SSHConnectScopeActivity and SSHRunCommandActivity.

I have my UiPath Studio in local machine and i need to run PuTTy in RDP. Will this activity work? Local machine does not have access to the host which needs to be connected to via SSH the access is only in the RDP.

I made a free ssh account at https://sdf.org/ to test your component. Apparently the SSH Connect Scope works, but when I tried to run a command (already tried with SSH Run Command and SSH Run Shel Command), an error raises "One or more errors occurred". 

I already tested this connection from PUTTY and works perfectly. At the beginning when I enter my password it  gaves me the next message and I press backspace so then I can execute any command

I posted before and now I could connect without problem Thanks for the reply. Now I am trying to execute the "cd test" command to switch to "test" directory and then use "ls" to get the list of files and directories, but the "cd" command has not worked. It keeps in the root directory. Please Help.

Is there a character limitation built into the Response status?  The responses I'm getting back truncate to a "..."

Can you please share the documentation of SSHRunShellCommandActivity. It seems the user guide (under resources) doesn't have any reference of the above activity.

1) Could you please correct the "SSHTimeout_Description" in your resources file (Resources.resx). The description says "Specifies the amount of time (in milliseconds) to wait for the SSH  specific activity to run before an error is thrown. The default value is  30000 (1 minute)."

2) Could you please tell why SSH session is getting disconnected when SSHConnectActivity and SSHRunShellCommandActivity are in two separate workflows ?. 

Currently, the workflow corresponding to SSHRunShellCommandActivity is getting invoked inside SSHConnectActivity. I was expecting that SSH Session will be shared in this case too, but somehow getting errors.

Note: If both these activites are in same workflow, then everything goes fine.

I am trying to execute the putty command through SSH connector scope. But I couldn't execute the "awexe node" command and getting error as "bash awaxe command not found". could you please help me to resovle this issue.

I'm not sure I understand how to use the PrivateKey File Path setting properly for the "SSH Connection Scope" activity.  I have set up an Open SSH file with the private RSA key for the desired linux server connection, however I'm not sure how to reference the needed password in order for the key to get utilized.  How do I input a password for the connected Open SSH file so that my key can be decrypted?

this command is executing from unix prompt but when using through SSH Run Command creating file of 0 size. Not undersatnding why this is happening

I'm trying to automate a user creation workflow and it seems that when i run a command for it, the system is asking again for the admin password. how can i send that password in a secure way? I get the credentials using "Get Credentials". In the "SSH Run Shell Command" activity, the Command input is a string without any option of using secure string.

This next host can only be accessed from first host. Eg. when putty is connected to it (first host) then i connect second host.

Connection module works but Command module does NOT. I get timeout error after using the command module. How can I fixed it?

The package contains three custom activities that facilitate establishing an SSH connection (SSHConnectScopeActivity) and sending commands to an already opened connection (SSHRunCommandActivity & SSHRunShellCommandActivity).

Please note that SSHRunCommandActivity does not use a SSH Shell, so the context is not maintained betweent he commands. To maintain the session, you should utilize SSHRunShellCommandActivity

The package wraps the basic functionalities of the SSH.NET library https://www.nuget.org/packages/SSH.NET/. The output of the commands being sent is captured so that the developer can make use of it in the automation process.

In the automation process, the Robots need to interact with remote systems such as UNIX servers. Though sometimes achievable through UI interaction in graphical interface sharing protocols, this might not be the fastest or reliable way of working with the remote systems. In the UNIX world, SSH is the preferred network protocol for accessing such remote systems and the present activities allow unlock the full communication potential of the SSH protocol in the automation processes.

This version is not backwards compatible with the previous one! If you update to this, you will have to make some changes in the workflows that are using those activities!

- I've added support for sending commands over a SSH Shell which allows to maintain the context and session between commands.

- The above addition means that certain prompts need to be expected to know when the command is finished and the shell is again available for commands. Those can be described using Regex, depeding on the target SSH server. For example: "[a-zA-Z0-9_.-]*@[a-zA-Z0-9_.-]*:\~.*\$ $"

- There are 2 timeouts: SSH Timeout is the time to wait for a response from the SSH connection and the Timeout is the overall timeout of the activity, including the SSH Timeout.

- SSHRunShellCommand has it's own expected prompt property, as it can be different depending on what commands you are executing, so please consider using it if needed. By default, it will inherit the one from the SSH Connect Scope

- SSHRunShellCommand has a Check Exit Code property which will check if the result of the last command is 0. If not, it will throw an exception.
