Facts: 17% of Americans change addresses annually, 45 million people move each year, approximately one out of every six families moves each year.
Patient statements are generated from a system and sent electronically to a service that will print and mail the statements. Prior to electronically submitting the file to the third party, the patient addresses contained in the flat file are validated using a third party website, i.e., the United States Postal Service web site, and the correct address is returned. The corrected address is entered into the flat file and then the file is sent to the third party for printing and mailing. So, before mailing out that next patient statement, collection letter, or Explanation of Benefits, verify and correct the address with your preferred vendor.
