Medical Sanctions are aimed at excluding people with questionable backgrounds from participating in federal healthcare programs. The exclusions are mandated under sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act. Generally speaking, people tend to get sanctioned after having committed some form of violation.
Medical sanctions are administered by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in the US Department of Health and Human Services. OIG (Office of Inspector General, Health Department US) office has provided an online portal to search and validate providers against the List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). It also provides a downloadable database which is updated monthly.
UiPath Provider Sanction Validation accelerator is designed to access the provider sanction details with multiple search criteria such as First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth (DOB), City, State, Zip code etc. without the need to navigate multiple screens. This validation accelerator can be utilized as per the business process requirement for processes such as Provider Credentialing, Out of network Provider verification for Medical Claims, Referring Provider updates.
