These snippets are used to expedite the creation of actions that leverage GUI interact actions with a desktop or web application.

Best Practices:

  1. Start and End each action with logs.
  2. Logs include the library name and the version being leveraged.
  3. Each snippet leverages a standard architecture (pre-condition, core action, post-condition).
  4. Create customer exceptions for pre-conditions and post-conditions.

How to add the snippets to Studio:

  1. Download the snippet.
  2. Unzip the file.
  3. NOTE: Delete the .settings folders so it is not imported into the Snippets tab.
  4. Open Studio.
  5. Open the Snippets tab.
  6. Click Add Folder.
  7. Locate the unzipped folder.
  8. Click Select Folder.
  9. You should be able to see the snippets.

How to leverage the Snippets:

  1. There are several basic actions (workflows) that are included. i.e. Launch, Logon, Logout, Click, SetData, GetData, Close.
  2. Create a Library.
  3. Create a new sequence workflow. Remove any sequences automatically created and you now have an empty workflow.
  4. Click and drag the snippet you want to leverage for your functions.
  5. Update the selectors (Prefer Object Repositories).
  6. Update exceptions for pre-conditions and post-conditions.
  7. Create variables and arguments if required.
  8. Add any required annotations.
  9. Repeat for all actions required within the application.
  10. Publish.
