"The output of the performance counters is always a delta value, the difference between the values before starting the activity and the values captured at the end of the execution." To understand correctly, it does 2 snapshots and compares them? Does it capture spikes in-between (f.e. an activity runs for 3 seconds, doing tons of allocations and processing, but then cleans up before exiting to almost the same values as before baring the now allocated result).

Hi Andrzej. It is possible to capture the spikes by using the right performance counters. e.g. for the working set you can capture "Working Set Peak". The list of available Process's performance counters can be obtained by using the perfmon or 'Get-Counter' command in PowerShell.
