Convert Encrypted PDF

Convert and export most certificate-based encrypted PDF files to non-encrypted PDF files

The activity uses iTextSharp library to remove the encryption and it has the following input and output arguments:

• InputPDFPath – this is the full path of the actual encrypted PDF file.
• OutputPDFPath – this is the path where the exported PDF along with extensions will be saved.

As a Result, the activity will return a true or false message based on the conversion.

Please note that password protected encrypted files are not handled.

Note: The functionalities are offered to allow robots to interact directly with existing business processes. They are not designed to provide new information security paradigms, but instead a means to allow the robot to interact with the existing security that is being deployed within a business.

If you cannot copy a text directly from a PDF file by selecting the text and Right Click - Copy, then that may be due to any kind of certificate-based encryption. This activity helps to decrypt the PDF file and makes the file suitable to copy content directly. It is useful for Invoice Processing. In some scenarios ABBYY Standalone Engine will fail to process encrypted files. In this case you can use this activity to decrypt the file and proceed further.
