The package provides two activities, one to convert MailMessage objects to .MSG files and the second one from .EML files to .MSG files. Activities to Convert Mail Message Objects and .eml format mails to .msg format mails.

I tried the 'eml to msg converter' activity in uipath, passed the eml file path and msg file path to its parameters, but I got the error: ''file could not be opened". Can anyone please help where is the issue?? Thanks for the help

I want to convert .eml mail message to .msg mail message and still preserve the mail message with the embedded images in its original location when I opened the .msg mail message. Does this activity perform as such? Thanks for supporting

Very useful package! Unfortunately I found little bug inside. When I use convert EML to MSG activity it deletes some mail receivers from fields TO and CC - but only those addresses that are inside my company network. Other addresses that are outside my company network stays. I added printscreen in link (adding attachment function is not working) . Do you maybe know what could be the reason?https://ibb.co/5R9SBxs

While using eml to msg activity i am getting error as "Write to object failed".

Can you help me for what is all possible reason for "Write to file failed ".error in eml to msg convertor activity

I have a requirement for one of project where I tried using this Mail Message Converter and followed all steps mentioned in installion guide but still unable to install the package. I did find that it does not created lib folder which I guess it suppose to create it. Can you pleaes tell me what could be the issue? I am using UiPath 2018.4.6 version.

I tried to save Mail Message to .msg format in a particular folder. In property i passed mail message and the destination folder name. But am getting error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Could anyone please help me to uderstand the property in Mail mesage to MSG converter?

I reinstalled the package and it resolved the issue. Thanks for great tool! 

But it would be good if this tool can retain the actual email format (i.e. HTML) because this tool is saving email in plain text format. This is when we use exchange activity to read emails but its working fine with outlook activity.

Also I found another issue where outlook lets you add multiple files with the same filename. In this case the activity cannot save the same file twice and even it did not saves email if I just want to save email without attachment(s).

Is there a way for a unique identifier or a counter to be added to the filename in such cases or to overcome this issue just to save email?

I tried using this custom activity it is continuously giving me the error file could not be opened. i have checked all the permissions and the file is also not opened anywhere.

Hi, Thank you for this useful tool. However, I noticed that the "'sent date" changed to "Saturday, January 1, 4501 6:00 AM" is this a bug? Is it possible to preserve the sent date from the eml file? 

Hi there, as mentioned by ANDOLF RINCON, I am also getting the issue where the sent date is being changed when the file is converted. How can I get the original date back?

We found an issue with a lot files in %temp% folder. There are for exmaple .pdf files that were attachments of e-mails processed within the workflow which are not deleted after they were processed and it seems it can be caused by "convert EML to MSG" activity.

Perform more tests  - The idea of this activity is very good, as I have seen multiple users requesting to save the emails with this extension. However, the package should be reviewed.
First I wasn't able to open the e-mail with .msg format, as I received the error "We can't open 'path'. It's possible the file is already open, or you don't have permission to open it. To check your permissions, right-click the file folder, then click Properties". I checked my rights, everything fine, I was able to open the email in .eml format, but not with this one.
After multiple steps of troubleshooting, I can't remember all the steps as it took a while to figure it out, I was able to open the saved email with .msg extension, however I was not able to see the body of the email. I forwarded the saved email and I was able to access all the information after this process.
My suggestion is that the activity might be improved and tested on different machines.


Mail message to message converter - I tried with multiple options to convert the mail message to message, but I am unable to do it. 
This nuget package really helped to solve my issue.

Doesn't save categories - It's a good attempt, kudos!
But the main reason I'm downloading it is to save the assigned "categories" of each Email to local drive. As the default uipath activity doesn't save "categories" if file type is .eml.
This customized activity doesn't offer more than the default option.




Often needed - Yeah, de default activity saves the mail in a fomat, but we need it in the other.
So this is a very have to component.


I was able to convert! - ave a question on how to save a ".MSG" file in the UiPath Community Forum and tried this activity.I was able to convert.
