Hello , I installed the package and I want to know please what is the name of the activity that makes me read a large excel spreadSheet.

Radu Bucur

All activities are under UiPathTeam.XLExcel.Activities.

If you search for that, you should find the Read Range and the scope activity

While using the ReadRange activity from the installed package it shows runtime error as below

Read range: The specified package is invalid. The main part is missing.

Somebody help me to resolve this.

Not sure what is happening Nisha, I've never seen this error. If you still need help, you can open a thread on the forum, share your workflow (and an excel sample, if possible) and tag me.

I was able to install the package successfully. However i will need a write and append range too as its needed in the project I am working on. Please advice me

Hi Henry,

I'm glad this works for you but currently we do not have started working on the Write Range Activity. Are you having any problems with the standard Write/Append range activities? If so, I would suggest opening a thread on the forum so that you might get some help/workarounds with those

Is it faster than standard activity?

Radu Bucur

Hi Jun,

I think it might have some small speed advantages over the standard activities but I would recommend testing first. Also, it would really be best to use this activity if the standard ones do not work

  1. I downloaded dependancy package from here

https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel/

  1. In nuget package manager uncheck option "Filter activities"
  2. Install dependancy package
  3. now i can install read extra large spreadsheets package without error.

Hi Stanislaw,

I'm glad that worked out for you. In the future I suggest adding the nuget feed to your orchestrator, so that you might be able to get all the dependencies for any package that you might use (a bit faster than dowloading the dependencies manually)

All the best,

Radu

Microsoft Office Excel version requirement ? My customer faced error message during installation : Unable to resolve dependency 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel (> 15.0.4795.1000)'

Radu Bucur
Posted 6 years ago ago

Hey Hyungsoo,

The error is happening because the installation cannot locate the dependency package, I've had people encounter this error when the NuGet feed was not listed as a source.

I think you should make sure the NuGet feed is added to your customer's Package Sources. You can use:

https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json

or

https://www.nuget.org/api/v2

Let me know if this fixes your problem

Best Regards,

Radu
