Hello,

how can I use this token with GSuite Activities, in GSuite Scope etc.? Thanks

Mihai Pricochi
Posted 4 years ago ago

Hi Jiri, This activity is independent of others like GSuite activity pack. For GSuite scope there are other ways of authenticating. https://docs.uipath.com/activities/docs/about-google-gsuite-activities#setup

Mihai

Which Uipath version should be preferred? As I am having 2019.10.3 and I am not able to find this package over there. Can you please help?

Mihai Pricochi

Hi Sourabh, Any version after 2018.2 should work, here is how to install custom activities https://dmtyylqvwgyxw.cloudfront.net/instances/214/assets/help-guides/UiPath-Go-Installation-Guide-Custom-Activities.pdf

Also, in newer versions of Studio you should have the marketplace components directly available https://docs.uipath.com/studio/docs/managing-activities-packages

Hi Mihai,

The client is using Microsoft MFA process for connecting to their network and We need to bypass the MFA using a Static Token.

As per your document "How to generate Secret Key.docx" it says we can get a static secret key and use for authentication.

Would that work always or should we get the static key everytime we need to connect?

Could you please explain?

Mihai Pricochi

Hello,

The secret static key only needs to be generated once, at the time when you enroll a "device" for MFA, as long as it's kept as a valid key under Microsoft MFA settings it should work everytime you generate a new token for authentication.

Mihai

Hello,

While enabling MFA for Microsoft Authenticator, In the configure mobile app page, it shows CODE and URL under barcode. Here CODE is the secret key? and its full of numeric values.

As shown in this page link ->  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/user-help/user-help-auth-app-add-account-manual#:~:text=Open%20the%20Microsoft%20Authenticator%20app,1%2C%20and%20then%20select%20Finish.

The first image from the above link.

Hello Gopi,

You can find details on how to generate the key for Microsoft in the [How To Generate Secret Key.docx] file linked under Documentation on the Component Overview Page.

You could try the code generated on the page you mentioned however this hasn't been tested.

Mihai

Hope you are doing good.

Hello,

There is a "How to Generate Secret Key" file attached in the Documents section of the page, which is on the right side. It's explained there.

Hi Mihai,

Hope you are doing well!

I am still facing the issues for two-factor authentication.

I am using microsoft authenticator for two factor authentication. I am approving through app. I can change this method to SMS but not email... These sms or app are the two default options.

For the secret key you are asking to generate throgh the microsoft sign in process.. we dont get can't see bar code.. can't use mobile all time. it cannot generate secret key and there is no documentation regarding the two factor authentication in uipath forum or anywhere.. How can we explore or complete the solution? Please help us out.

Hello,

Right now I am not aware of any other methods to generate the Secret Key outside the one describes in the "How To Generate Secret Key.docs" file linked in the documentation section. It may be that the organisation has blocked certain methods of two factor authentication.

Mihai

Hello Mihai, Works the authentication component with Symantec vip access?: https://vip.symantec.com/

Mihai Pricochi
Posted 5 years ago ago

Hello Javier,

While it's not specifically designed with Symatec vip in mind, many such systems used the same algorithm to generate a token from a specific secret key so if you are able to generate the key in plain text you should be able to test it out.

Hi Mihai,

Not sure if I can respond directly to your answer you provided me below, but no it never works. But I activated the Secret Key on a different device (via phone), not the activity in this case. Maybe that is my issue? If so, I am not 100% sure how I would activate the Secret Key through UiPath then.

I really would like to use this activity, but can't get it to work. The Secret Key is all numeric and I am not using spaces.

Mihai Pricochi

To activate the Secret Key on UiPath you need to generate the first code directly through the activity, not through a different device.

You can open a separate thread on the Forum if you're still having issues, might be easier to communicate there.

When running the bot using the Microsoft Token activity I keep getting an error.

"Get Microsoft Token: Illegal character: 8"

Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I entered the Secret Key value that was shown before activating on my device that would be doing the approval. So I figured once it was activated it would work without any issue. Confused as to what is going on. Thanks.

If I understood this correctly, the activity generates a correct token the first time, when you activate the "device" (the robot/activity in this case), but after that it spits out an error when running the robot? Can you try to make sure you're only using alphanumeric characters from the secret key? (spaces can be ignored)

Any chance to support also Onelogin ?

Hello, have you tried generating a code with one of the current activities and that doesn't work?

Asking because most of the MFA systems use the same algorithm to generate the codes.

Hi Mihai Pricochi. I got it working man. I had to click the button that says I do not want a notification on the set up page to get a different code and now it works. Thanks man and great activity.

Glad to hear it worked :)
