Open Weather Map API will provide:

*   Access to current weather data for any location including over 200,000 cities.
*   The current weather is frequently updated based on global models and data from more than 40,000 weather stations.
*   Data available in JSON, XML.

Options:

  

**a) Get\_CurentWeather\_by\_CityName:** Get current weather details in XML or JSON format by providing the city name or county code.

*   Input: city name (Chennai, Dallas, London, etc.), mode (XML/JSON), country code (in, us, UK, etc.) and OpenWeatherMap API Key from 
*   Steps: the API gets the response code and the current weather condition.
*   Output: status code and current weather conditions for the inputted city.

**b) Get\_CurrentWeather\_by\_Zip:** Get current weather details in XML or JSON format by providing the zip code, county code.

*   Input: zip (76131 ,605008) , mode (XML/JSON), country code (in, us, UK, etc.) and OpenWeatherMap API Key from .
*   Steps: the API gets the response code and the current weather condition.
*   Output: Status Code and current weather condition based on the inputted zip displayed in XML or JSON format.

**c) Get\_Weather\_5day\_Forcast\_by\_CityName:** Get Weather forecast for the next 5 days with a 3-hour interval, in XML or JSON format by providing the city name or county code.

*   Input: city name (Chennai, Dallas, London, etc.), mode (XML/JSON), country code (in, us, UK, etc.) and OpenWeatherMap API Key from .
*   Steps: the API gets the response code and the weather forecast for the next 5 days with a 3-hour interval condition.
*   Output: Status Code & Weather forecast for the next 5 days with a 3-hour interval condition for the city name inputted.

**d) Get\_Weather\_5day\_Forcast\_by\_Zip:** Get Weather forecast for the next 5 days with a 3-hour interval in XML or JSON format by providing the zip code or county code.

*   Input: zip (76131, 605008, etc), mode (XML/JSON), country code (in, us, UK, etc.) and OpenWeatherMap API Key from .
*   Steps: the API gets the response code and the weather forecast for the next 5 days with a 3-hour interval condition.

Set-up the package:

1.  Download the package from UiPath Marketplace.
2.  Copy the downloaded package in C:\\Users\\xxxx\\AppData\\Local\\UiPath\\app-xx.x.x\\Packages.
3.  Open the UiPath project.
4.  Go to Manage Packages.  
    a) Install the web activities package (UiPath.Web.Activites \[for HTTP request\] to Open weather map API requests)   
    b) Search local for _openweathermap_ and install the package.
5.  Check if the Openweathermap activity is available.
6.  Set-up Open weather map API key.
7.  Go to .
8.  Click Sign-up.
9.  Fill in the details to create an account.
10.  Click Sign in.
11.  Sign in the account.
12.  Note the API key.

Get the current or a 5-day weather forecast details in XML or JSON format by providing the city name, county code or zip and county code.

Bot compiles multiple Google calendar invites with game, weather and player trip details for different teams involved in the tournament

**Problem to Solve:**

To make life easier for people organizing and / or part of teams involved in various outdoor team sports/games (e.g. cricket, baseball, soccer, football, field hockey etc. ) to plan and prepare in advance to participate, track, notify and report on ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘when’ and ‘where’ information of different games in a league or tournament.

  

**About the project:**

The Sports inviter bot will read input Excel files on team, schedule, player & venue details and compile a Google calendar invite with event / game details, weather details (openweathermap API)and player trip (Google Direction/map API) details for the players of different teams involved in the game or tournament.

  

**Value:**

Reduce the time taken and manual effort on repetitive tasks to communicate game details, improve quality by removing manual error and increasing stakeholder satisfaction in whole process of participating in the games.

The Google’s Directions API is a service that calculates directions between locations. You can search for directions for several modes of transportation, including transit, driving, walking, or cycling.

Note: 1) The Response code is of type Integer (Int) and all other input and output variables are of type "String"

2) in GetTripResponse Output - **"Mode"is required input field and values accepted are “xml” or “json” \[lower case only\]**

**Activities details :**

a)      GetTrip Distance And Duration: Get Trip distance and duration based on Origin and destination addresses (works the similar way as Google maps)

·        Input: Origin address , Destination address & Google API key

·        Steps: Google Location API will calculate the distance and duration based on the origin and destination addresses

·        Output: Response status code, Distance in Miles or Kilometer and Duration

b)     GetTripResponse Output: Get trip details response in XML or JSON

·        Input: Origin address , Destination address , Google API key and Mode (xml or json)\[only lower case)

·        Steps: Google Location API will calculate the distance and duration based on the origin and destination addresses

·        Output: Response status code & Response output in XML

Two activities using Google Location API (Google maps) to find distance, duration, and get output response string in XML or JSON between origin and destination address.
